This demo requires the Quicktime 3.0 extension is installed on your computer.
If you do not have the Quicktime extension, open the folder called "QuickTime 3.0" and double-click the file named "Installer".
How can I tell if I have Quicktime 3 installed or not?
The simplest method is to try and run the demo; if you hear music but don't see any video, a version of Quicktime prior to 3.0 is most likely installed. Run the Quicktime installer.
Fast CD-ROM Drive
This demo requires a 6X CD-ROM drive or faster.
There is no simple way to find out your CD-ROM’s access speed, other than physically looking at your CD-ROM drive or it's supporting documentation. But a good indication that your CD-ROM drive is too slow for this demo, is that the video (Quicktime movies) are not playing smooth. If your movies are jerky or stuttering you may wish to copy the demo application and it's supporting "video" folder to your local hard drive.
Multisync (800x600) Monitor
The demo is designed to run on a monitor with a resolution of 800x600 pixels or larger. You can switch your monitors resolution by going to your "Apple menu", "control panel" and choosing the "Monitors & sound" control panel. In this control panel should be able to set your resolution to either 800x600 or 832x624 resolution. If your monitor only supports 640x480 then portions of the demo will be cut off.
- Navigation in the Demo -
Once the demo starts up you will see an "attract loop"; this loop can be clicked on to take you to the main menu of the demo. Here (at the main menu) you can click the 4 icon to continue on with the demo, or you can click the "Apple" icon to quit the demo. If you wish to restart the attract loop video of the demo, you can click on the "Mac OS 8.5" word to do so. This only works at the main menu however.
